Small & Large Format Printing at LinxPrint

LinxPrint is a print studio located in East Vancouver. As Operations Manager and Production Coordinator from 2013 to fall of ’16, I worked on a wide variety of client projects in varying capacities.

This image shows a sample of projects from LinxPrint’s portfolio. Business cards, transit shelter ads, display banners, small run zines, merch tags, and labels are some of the regular orders that I looked after the layout, production or finishing for.

Leonty Logo Design

This is a logo I designed in 2014 for Leonty Music. Leonty composes and licenses music for film & tv projects, with a focus on aligning sound with visuals, scene changes, character details, and emotional content in narratives.

The client requested a logo with warm tones and a gender-neutral feel. I used cascading circles in yellow, brown and dark orange to suggest soundwaves, and overlaid a cursive “L”. The logo was designed in Illustrator.

sukaina-hirji.com

In 2014, I built this website with WordPress. Sukaina asked for an academic site where people could find her Philosophy research, learn more about her, and get in touch. She also wanted to be able to update the content on her own in the future.

I secured the domain, arranged hosting, and created a child theme that would meet her needs. The setup, design and testing were completed on time.

It was great working with Sukaina because she had a clear vision of what she wanted. I used muted colours and chose fonts with a classic aesthetic to echo other sites that she liked. One really fun part of this project was preparing the owl graphic. Sukaina had recently gotten it tattooed on her arm. I digitised reference sketches she’d used with the tattoo artist. Now it’s the site favicon.

Student Work: Langara Publishing Program

The Publishing program provides hands-on experience with industry-standard tools: HTML & CSS, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and WordPress.

In all of my work, I focused on using effective layouts, colour, and typography.

The portfolio website I created in 2013 is among those featured as examples of student work on the program’s website.
